Obama

On Saturday I went down to the Obama rally with group of friends from work. My mom decided to join us. It was an amazing day. When we got through security, a gentleman asked my friend Steph if she was alone. A little weirded out, she looked at me and said no. The guy then informs us he is not a stalker but wants to know if we want to sit on the bleachers behind Obama. We totally agreed to this. We got to see everything up close and personal. It was very exciting. Then after he spoke, Obama went around and shook hands. And we all got to shake hands with Obama while informing him that we were all librarians who were voting Obama. Hee! Then Obama reaches in and tells my coworker Skye that she has the prettiest eyes he's seen. Obama's a flirt.

All around great day. Check out some of the pics from my flickr account. More images to come when I get pictures from the group.

I saw John Oliver twice today. So freaking awesome.

I love ya tomorrow?

Tomorrow night the place where I work is hosting a thing that is kind of important to a few people in America. I don't care what your politics are (well, I do but that's a different post) whether you like elephants or donkeys or hammers and sickles; it's been fun to be at a place to is so energized and excited about an event.

I am looking forward to and also dreading tomorrow. I mean, it's pretty cool to have my campus be the host for something the nation will be tuned to. The flip side of that coin is well, all the practical stuff that you have to deal with. I mean, I am glad I take the train to work because parking is going to be (and already is) a bitch. Plus, eating on campus is going to be a nightmare. Also, if you don't have your id they make you turn around and leave...hey, I smell a vacation day.

I didn't get carded today but I did get tell a member of the media (if you consider a make-up artist for Access Hollywood media) where the media credentials building was. So, that is something but I think the deluge will be in full force tomorrow.

I plan on packing the camera and I hope to get some awesome pictures. If I do, I will post them.

Presidential Politics

You know, lately, I have just been fed up with the whole thing. The in-fighting; the petty bickering; the my daddy taught me to shoot vs. people are bitter tifts. But I think that Sars has really hit the nail on the head with this one. She says it better than I know I can.

ETA: Clinton's recent statement of "I want the Iranians to know that if I’m the president, we will attack Iran," just further solidified that she will not be getting my vote. Hey Hill, maybe before you go preemptively striking you should remember that you are supposed to be different from the Republicans.

Hillary's got a new boyfriend

Well, it looks like Mann Coulter is putting her weight behind Hillary. One more reason why I hope Obama gets the bid. You know shit is fucked up when MANN COULTER sides with Hillary over McCain.

Oh, Huckabee

Well, I wasn't going to vote for him anyway but this interview solidifies it for me. Dude, it's just stupid and wrong to equate homosexuality with bestiality and polygamy. Most of my gays wouldn't want to have sex with an animal because they smell bad. Gays are all about smelling good, Huckabee.*

Also, your G-O-D ain't mine so keep him the fuck out of my constitution and my womb and wherever else you think he should go. Get a clue! People want something different than the bullshit Jesus crap we have in office currently. Sigh.

That is all.

*Please note I did not take a poll of my gays; I just made that shit up because I thought it sounded true. I mean, I know that is one of the many reasons why I wouldn't have the animal sex.

Paris is way cooler than Hillary

I thought you Gilmore Girls lovers out there might appreciate this article I found on The Huffington Post. Comparisons are made between a beloved Paris Geller and one Senator Clinton. Personally, I would probably vote for Paris before I vote for Hillary but then who wouldn't want Doyle to be the First Husband/Gentleman?

Doing some good

I totally stole this from Marissa. But she stole it from Erica, so it makes me feel less bad.

Anyway, are you good with words? Do you like to help starving children around the world? If so, go play at Free Rice. All you have to do is know the right meaning of the word given and they donate 10 grains of rice for every right answer. Today, I already donated 500 grains. I knew that Latin would come in handy for something other than my ACT, SAT, and, surprisingly, Persian. So, go feed some kids.

FREE RICE!

Interesting and yet not

Bill suggested taking this USAToday poll that tells you who in the presidential campaign is most in line with your beliefs. Aside from the last question, which annoyed me because I am not sure any of those things matter, I thought the quiz was interesting. According to this poll, I am most in line with....(drum roll, please)

1. Dennis Kucinich (D)
2. Mike Huckabee (R)
3. Mike Gravel (D)

Looks like none of those guys will probably make it to the finish line but I am actually a bit interested in Mike Huackabee. He was on Bill Mahr a couple of weeks back and had some interesting things to say.
